Cool activties
Some of my favorite activities. Try out other water sports activities such as Folkestone Marine Park & Visitor Centre. Wonderful for snorkelling, for both couples and families.
While touring around you can visit Flower Forest and Welchman Hall Gully. Why not learn about Barbados secret. Rum. Mount Gay Distillery and Heritage will give you a grand tour on the art of fermentation. Before you know it, you can get awfully light on your toes.

Barbadians have a longstanding tradition of good horsemanship. There are several stables who welcome visiting riders of varying ability, and can provide both equipment and instruction as required. A trail ride through some of the island's beautiful countryside can add a special touch to any vacation. I highly recommend the sunset ride on the beach. Recommendation: Highland Adventure Centre or

Scuba Diving
No other Caribbean island offers better wreck diving than Barbados, with more than 10 wrecks to choose from and many more waiting to be discovered. Carlisle bay alone has recorded more than 200 lost ships, mainly due to storms, some dating as far back as the 17th century. The Queen of all modern wreck dives is undoubtably the S.S. Stravonikita. this Greek Freighter, some 365ft long, was sunk purposely in 1978 and lies perfectly upright at a maximum depth of 137ft (45m) with her mast reaching to within 18ft (6m) of the surface. 17 profiles take you through this ship, ranging in levels of certification and experience from Open Water to Wreck Specialist.
Recommendation: Exploresub Barbados, Hightide Barbados or Dive Shop at Grand Barbados Hotel and Island Diving.

WIND SURFING
The spot to windsurf in Barbados is the area of Silver Sands, where the conditions are challenging yet forgiving and where circumstances are unbelievably convenient. Best time of year for windsurfing is from mid November until the end of June. The trades usually blow at a moderate wind speed. Mostly used sails are 4.72 to 5.32. But it definitely does not mean you should leave your 4.52, 4.02 or even 3.52 at home. Recommendation: Silver Rock and Sandy Beach (for beginners) in Christ Church.

Fishing
Why not tackle sport fishing? The waters around Barbados abound with fish and there are boats available for half day and full day charter. There is nothing like hooking a Marlin and landing it. Other popular catches include Dolphin (also refered to as Dorado or Mahi Mahi - not the "Flipper" variety), Wahoo (locally called King Fish), Sailfish, Yellow Fin Tuna, Blue Marlin, Bonita and Barracuda. Some charter boats will even let you keep the fish you catch so check with them at the time of booking. Between February and April, they have their annual Deep Sea Fishing Tournament. Recommendations: Blue Jay, Honey Bea III, and

Kite Surfing
What is Kite Surfing? Kite Surfing is a fast grow new sport which is gaining lots of publicity - because it is so extreme. It is not wind surfing, it is not wake boarding, it is not surfing, it is not kite flying. It is the fusion of these disciplines with other influences to create the wildest new water sport for years. There are 2 Kite Surfing beginners courses: 6 hours in total for .00
10 hours for .00
Should you do well and then wish to hire your own board and kite you can do so for 3 days for .00. All prices quoted in US dollars. Recommendation: barbadosretreats
